Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. Her early years were spent listening to classical music, boleros from the past, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves Tangos. She also loves operas, and every form of theatrical performance. At the age 16, she started singing and studying music with her mother. Flavio, a Mexican tenor of great renown began to give her more intense singing instruction. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca at Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. While a young student and professional, she sang with various chamber groups as well as opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. After moving from Mexico to America in 2000, she sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. As a musician and teacher, she is committed to various community-based projects because of her love and enthusiasm for music. Ana has also been a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, through her sharing songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she can instill a passion, particularly for the young generation, for keeping this music alive.
